Manufacturers across all industry sectors have taken a huge hit due to large-scale shutdown caused by COVID-19 pandemic. Most of them have had to completely shut-down their operations, and send their employees on unpaid leave or lay them off completely. This has impacted both heavily with manufacturers incurring heavy losses and employees losing their source of livelihood.
However, manufacturers can partially operate by allowing departments such as production planning, sales management, purchase management, customer support, etc. to work from home. However, owing to the nature of operations, departments such as Shop Floor, Logistics & Shipping, and Supply Chain, etc. would have to work out of the premises.
